Caring for loved ones with dementia or Alzheimer’s Disease can be uncharted territory for caregivers.
An interactive workshop for family caregivers, facilitated by former FUMC member Merriott Terry, is planned for Saturday, April 2 at 10 am in the church library. Based on her own 11 year journey as caregiver for her husband and learning to navigate the maze of care decisions, she co-wrote a caregiving workbook with Nancy Essex. The notebook and workshop will help develop an understanding of a person’s role as decision maker for, and as the caregiver of, a dementia challenged loved one.
The workbook, What Do I Do? is available online or at the April 2 meeting. For more information contact caregivingheroesgroup@gmail.com.
