Weekend Backpack Program

The Coppell Cares Weekend Backpack Program is designed to help eliminate food insecurity for the children who attend CISD schools. The program provides nutritious breakfast, lunch and snack items to eligible CISD children (and siblings) over the weekends during the school year when they are not receiving meals at school. There are two ways to volunteer: shop or pack food.

Sack Summer Hunger

FUMC Coppell partners with Metrocrest Social Services to provide food each week during the summer to children in CISD schools who are on the free or reduced lunch program during the school year. Every Saturday morning from late May to August, volunteers deliver sacks with a week’s supply of food to each family’s door. There are two ways to volunteer:  pickup food at Metrocrest or deliver food to families.

Easter Dinner

FUMC Coppell provides Easter dinner baskets with all the ingredients for a family Easter celebration to the families of children who are on the free or reduced lunch program during the school year. There are three ways to volunteer: shop, pack or distriibute food.
