Event Details

Public education funding in Texas faces significant challenges, impacting schools, teachers, and students across the state. This presentation will explore the key factors contributing to the funding challenges, including state funding formulas and legislative decisions. We will also discuss how the Coppell ISD community can navigate these challenges through local initiatives and advocacy. Maintaining strong public schools is essential not only for student success and career readiness but also for preserving high property values in our community. Together, we can work toward a stronger future for Texas public schools. This event is brought together by Communities United for Public Education, hosted by First UMC Coppell, Church and Society committee. The featured speakers are David Caviness, acting as a private citizen, and Jill Hill, a member of Communities United, co-president of Pinkerton PTO, and a very active community member. The door opens at 6pm, and the presentation will start at 6:30pm.
