Adult Music Opportunities
There are so many ensembles from which to choose. We hope that one of these ensembles will fit your spiritual and musical needs.
Chancel Choir
The Chancel Choir is open to all who enjoy singing and sharing music and wish to enter a commitment to create music with others to share the glory of God. A wide variety of musical abilities are welcome in the Chancel Choir. This choir primarily leads worship at the 11:00 am worship service on Sunday mornings and rehearses every Wednesday night from 7:15-9:00 pm in the Choir Room. Along with Sunday Worship, the Chancel Choir performs a variety of concerts through the year including the wildly popular Christmas and Patriotic POPS! You can join by attending one of our regularly scheduled rehearsals or email Nathan Frank at nfrank@fumccoppell.org. Childcare is provided by calling the reservation hotline 48 hours in advance, 972-462-0471 ext 226.
Heartfire Praise Band
This is our praise band which leads worship each Sunday morning in the 9:45 am worship service. They typically rehearse on Tuesday nights at 7:00 pm in the Sanctuary. For more information please contact our Heartfire Director Mark Cozart at cozy052005@yahoo.com.
Revelation Chamber Choir
This group of adults love to sing music from all genres. They rehearse every Wednesday from 6:40-7:15 pm and sing once a month in the 11:00 am service. They sing a wide variety of A cappella music from the 16th to the 20th Century. Revelation Chamber Choir is open to all. The Women's Chorus
This is a group of women that like to have a lot of fun singing various types of musical styles and genres. They rehearse on an as needed basis. This group is open to all women in the church and is always looking for new members. Good News Men's Ensemble
This is a group of harmonizing gentlemen that sing an eclectic mix of Barbershop, Jazz, and Southern Gospel. They rehearse on an as needed basis. To join the Good News Ensemble, contact Nathan Frank at nfrank@fumccoppell.org.
Blended Spirits
This dynamic group of young women sing a wide variety of styles from gospel to contemporary. They lead worship three or four times a year in all three of our worship services. They rehearse on an as needed basis and are directed by Heartfire band member Lisa Rucker.
Shalom Ringers
The Adult handbell choir plays regularly in worship and rehearses on Sunday evenings during the school year from 5:00-6:00 pm in the Sanctuary's choir loft. For more information please contact Deanna Goodman at dgoodman@fumccoppell.org.
First Church Orchestra
The orchestra is looking for players of all levels and expertise. They play a wide variety of music in a wide variety of styles! They rehearse every Sunday from 3:00-4:00 pm in the choir loft. First Church Orchestra is open to players ages 13 and up.
Dixie Disciples
This is our resident Dixie Land Band. They are usually a crowd favorite at events like Christmas and Patriotic POPS! The Band also represents FUMC Coppell at local events and for the Church's own activities. They rehearse on an as needed basis. They are led by Heartfire band member Robert Rucker.
The Coppell Saxophone Quartet
