Missions: Local "Across the Street"
Christian Community Action
We support this agency through congregational donations of clothing, books, and small appliances; by providing the ingredients and preparing lunches for the Kids Eat Free Summer Lunch Program; “Paper & Prayers” the monthly donation of items needed in the store; providing clothing for children as they return to school through the Back to School Program and the Christmas Giving Tree where we have the opportunity to become an angel for a child at this special time of year. Austin Street Shelter
Each Saturday for the past 18 years, members of our congregation have prepared sandwiches, boiled eggs and gathered fruit and then traveled to the shelter early on Saturday to provide nourishment (possibly the only nourishment for the day) to those who have spent the night in the shelter. It has also become a tradition for FUMC to serve on Christmas morning with family members and deliver gifts like blankets or ponchos. We hosted our first Austin Street breakfast at FUMC Coppell in Smart Hall on October 27, 2007. We provided two buses and breakfast for homeless from Austin Street and then served breakfast to those who serve in the mission. Contact Cindy Warner, warner.family@verizon.net.

Christ's Foundry (La Fundición de Cristo)
Christ's Foundry is a mission United Methodist Church located in a densely populated Spanish-speaking immigrant community located north of Love Field in Dallas, Texas. As a covenant church for Christ's Foundry, we support it financially (October’s communion rail offering), with our prayers and through various needs during the year. Through their 1,000 Bells Campaign, Christ's Foundry is currently seeking support $500,000 to begin construction of a Ministry Center. This church’s growth is a sign that the word of God is alive! If you would like to get involved, contact Jerry Alexander, jerry.alexander@utdallas.edu.

Habitat for Humanity
This ministry is NEW for church. As a church, in 2007 we built 25 walls in the church parking lot in September and these walls be used in Habitat Humanity houses throughout Dallas County. Then in October we joined with other congregations to build two houses over an eight week period. These homes were dedicated on December 8th. If you would like to help contact Wes Potter, wes.potter@tx.rr.com.
